Answers to Questions We Get from Our Clients
FAQs About Colorado Springs Massage Services
What can I expect from my massage at Absolute Body Balance?
What can I expect during my first massage therapy session in Colorado Springs?
What do I wear to my massage?
When you’re traveling to your session (and when it’s complete), you’ll want to wear something that’s not restrictive or uncomfortable. You don’t have to worry about looking your best when there’s a good chance you’ll get undressed anyway. Depending on what type of massage therapy in Colorado Springs you choose, it may be best to be fully undressed. This is just an option; you never have to worry about taking off your underwear or undergarments if you’re uncomfortable. It’s a totally personal preference for most clients, and we respect your privacy and choices. Modest and respectful draping is used throughout your session. (If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out and speak with us before your session date.)
Who can use massage services in Colorado Springs?
How often do you need a massage?
Do I need to drink water before my massage?
We love to see our Colorado Springs massage therapy clients walk in with a water bottle in hand as it’s always best to stay hydrated. This advice is good for our everyday life, even when you’re not due for a massage session at Absolute Body Balance. Drinking plenty of water before and after ensures your body feels the effects of our massage services. Your post-massage water intake helps you flush out any materials or toxins released, especially with deep tissue massage or other in-depth treatments. (Don’t worry about having to use the restroom. Just let us know if you’ve to go!)
What is the best type of massage for me?
Asking us to choose the best or most effective massage services in Colorado Springs is like picking a favorite child. They are all so special, wonderful, and incredible in their own way because of their many benefits to your overall health and performance. We recommend to start with a Swedish massage aka a relaxation massage because it’s gentle and ideal for anyone new to massage therapy in Colorado Springs. It will show you how relaxing it is to pamper yourself or take extra care of your aches and pains. Know that your therapist is trained to adjust their pressure and use varying therapeutic techniques so open communication will ensure the best possible massage therapy experience for you! (Read more about our services and then reach out with any questions about your personal massage experience.)
Does having a massage hurt?
Most people who book an Absolute Body Balance massage are already in some kind of pain, so it’s our massage therapists’ job to alleviate that — never make things worse! Most massages should be relaxing and you should be able to breath easily even with a deeper pressure applied. Massage can give you a “hurts so good” response instead of “ouch that hurts.” A deep tissue massage does address tightness and knots but in a way that works with your body, never against it.
When should I not get massage therapy in Colorado Springs?
How will I feel after a massage in Colorado Springs?
Totally relaxed would be the best way to describe what your post-massage body should feel like. Some clients say they feel like Jell-O, a wet noodle, buttery, melty, like they’re walking on a cloud. Others have bursts of energy, heightened awareness, and productivity. The effects of a good massage therapy session will be something you’ll immediately feel and can last for days, even weeks. There could be a little soreness following any Colorado Springs deep tissue body massage, like you were working out the day before. It should subside in a day or two similarly to a workout. Try soaking in a warm bath with Epsom salts or taking a hot shower. Heavy exercise after a massage is not recommended but a light walk or simply resting is encouraged to help your muscles relax and heal at the same time.
