Therapeutic Massage

All of our massage therapists are trained to manipulate soft tissue in such a way that aids the healing process, enhances function of muscles and increases range of motion. We treat a variety of soft tissue injuries, aid healing post surgery, and restore use of immobilized joints. This is where our passion lies and rest assured knowing that there can be relief from pain and discomfort.

Deep Tissue Massage

Release tension and knots with a deep tissue, therapeutic massage. Using techniques such as neuromuscular therapy and stretching you are sure to release toxins and decrease tension.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stones are popular for the ultimate relaxation and tension release. The combination of heat and smooth strokes work in a blissful combination that you won’t forget. Even in the hot summer months there is no better way to relax tight muscles.

Lymphatic Drainage

This gentle technique is used to manually encourage the natural drainage of the lymph. The purpose of lymph drainage is to carry waste away from the tissues and towards the heart by using light, rhythmic hand movements.

Couples Massage

Couples can share some much needed time together while receiving the treatment that is specific to their needs whether it be a Swedish, deep tissue, pre-natal, or sports massage. (Couples massages are in the same room, at the same time.)

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

Used to release restrictions from the central nervous system. This technique uses gentle pressure, no more than the weight of a nickel.

The central nervous system is heavily influenced by the craniosacral system – the membranes and fluid that surround, protect and nourish the brain and spinal cord. The therapy works to release the pressure that builds due to daily stress and tension, and by removing restrictions, allows the body to self-correct.

Energy Work

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

What are muscle imbalances?

imagesIsometric muscle balancing is used in rehabilitation of chronically tightened and imbalanced muscles. Muscles become imbalanced from many different causes including but not limited to, muscle fatigue, poor posture habits, trauma, heavy lifting, exercise, sports and emotional stress. Muscles work in opposing pairs in the body, on one side or region of the body muscles that become constructed or shortened will cause the opposite corresponding muscles to become over stretched. As a result of muscle imbalances, joints will begin to move in altered state and this may lead to a breakdown of the joints. Muscles spasms can also be a result of imbalance. Contracted muscles restrict blood flow and pinch nerve endings causing pain.

How do isometrics work?

Isometric muscle balancing is used in rehabilitation of chronically tightened and imbalanced muscles utilizing the post isometric relaxation response. By retraining the muscles using a series of short contractions in specific directions combined with passive stretching, the contracted muscles will lengthen and the muscle memory will form new, corrected patterns. The treatment can be done fully clothed or in conjunction with a massage.
